Creeping Charlie as you well know, if you have it, is a royal pain in the you know what to get rid of. This very invasive weed usually starts from a neighbors yard or is transported from some of the potting soil with perennials that you may have picked up from a friend to add to your garden, or you may have just had it yourself when you moved in.
Some yards have had it for decades and the home owner just figures they cannot kill it without killing their good grass, so they just live with it and do the best they can to get rid of it. Does this sound like you? It used to be me, until recently.
There is a great new select herbicide that Feldjagers swears by available for licensed applicators that will control Creeping Charlie 98% by label, and it works. Select means targeting a specific pest or weed and not killing good grasses like Kentucky Blue Grass, Rye, and Fescue. There are a few products over the counter now that state Ground Ivy or CC on the label, but this stuff does not work, and you end up killing other vegetation in the process. With the herbicide we apply there is minimal damage, if any at all.
Creeping Charlie Treatments Put To the Test
We have tested this Herbicide ourselves and at eight weeks it was actually 98-99% controlled, and this back yard was canopied with it. I was amazed to say the least!
